What is the best way for someone from the UK, on holiday in the US, to make cheap calls?
I’m going to the US in just under 2 weeks. I’ll be out there for 5 weeks.
I’ll be bringing my mobile phone for emergencies but it’ll probably be too expensive to ring home often.
What is the best way to make phone calls abroad in my situation?
- International Phone Cards?
(if so, do I buy them here or there?)
- A better/more international tariff on my mobile?
- Are there ‘international/travel’ sim cards specifically for this kind of thing?
Thank you!

you can get an international cell phone plan at your local phone store
Check out http://www.phonecard-deals.com They have good rates. There are cards to call from any country to any country using local access numbers so that you only pay as if it is local call, plus few cents for the iternational phone card.
